Take Note: Supply Disruptions

During the past 90 days, there have been several significant supply chain updates affecting operations. Below is a summary of the key developments:

Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) Kits

  • Production Status: ICU Medical confirmed in late March that all production lines are operational following supply issues earlier in the year.
  • Availability: As of the April update, 3 mL kits were seeing high-volume output (>200% of historical demand), and 1 mL kits were projected to reach 100% of historical demand by May 2026.

Nitrile Exam Gloves & Allocation Logic

  • Initial Disruption: Industry-wide impacts on nitrile gloves, driven by Middle East conflicts affecting raw materials, initially led to a 125% allocation of historical demand.
  • Allocation Adjustments: This allocation was adjusted to 100% in late March.
  • Logic Change: Effective April 27, 2026, Medline shifted to a “True Weekly Allocation” model (Monday through Sunday).
    • Rollover quantities no longer expire monthly; instead, you now have access to a 3-week rolling unused allocation.

Medline Tracy Distribution Center Disruption

  • Incident: A fire at the Tracy, California, distribution facility occurred on June 11, 2026.
  • Operational Impact: Orders previously supported by Tracy are being rerouted, resulting in potential delivery delays of 24–48 hours.
  • Mitigation Efforts: Medline has increased transportation resources, expanded storage, and implemented weekend delivery schedules to catch up on demand.
  • Recommended Actions:
    • Order Timing: Submit orders as early as possible in the week to minimize delays.
    • Custom Packs (C46): Medline is implementing a short-term support plan for custom packs previously supported by the Tracy facility; these updates are being communicated through sales teams.
    • Visibility: Use Medline.com to track shipments; teams are actively enhancing visibility tools to provide more accurate delivery timing.
